Baby MaKenna is here!

Baby Makenna is here everyone!!! She is so cute!! She weighs 5 lbs 8 oz and is 17 1/2 inches long. We love her so much! I will post pictures when we get home from the hospital. :)

Traditions?!

So, growing up when Santa visited my family he brought us wonderful gifts wrapped up in beautiful wrapping paper. And of course the excitement was incredible looking to see who the presents belonged to. Now that I am married I am seeing other ways Santa delivers gifts.. unwrapped under the tree. I can see how that would be exciting as well! And how time saving it can be too.
How did Santa deliver gifts to you as a kid and how is he doing it with your current families?! I just want to see what kind of traditions you have, so Dave and I can get some ideas for our future family!

Christmas Sneaking Up on Me Again!

I am sitting here at work thinking of how I swear it was just Christmas.. As usual it has snuck up on me! I cant believe it is this time of year again. Dave and I have had so many distractions this holiday season that we haven't been able to soak up the MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! Dave likes to make fun of me because I love Christmas so much, I am the kind of person who has to put up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and I start listening to Christmas music right around the same time. I feel like I am still putting stuff up around the house for Christmas and will never have it done like I did last year. We haven't even gone to Temple Square like we always do.... I think the only Christmas stuff we have done this year was the Festival of Trees and we took our niece Emery to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point which was so much fun because my Brother, Kylee and Kai came as well. It was so much fun to see the kids face light up with all the awesome Christmas Lights everywhere! We cant wait til next year to be able to do that with our little one! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! I am so grateful for this time of the year because we get to be with family and think of the Saviors Birth. It really is a WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! Merry Christmas to everyone!

Contractions Anyone?!

The last week I have been feeling some pretty intense contractions... At the time of course didn't even know they were contractions! I kept telling Dave that I feel all this pressure in my lower abdomen and started to get lower back pain and sharp stabbing pain in my whole stomach area. After a couple days of feeling that I started to worry thinking maybe something maybe wrong. So I called my Dr. and the nurse told me, "oh dont worry, just take a warm bath and take some Tylenol." TYLENOL?!?! humm....
So, I decided to go to labor and delivery. I wanted to make sure my baby is fine and the pain I was feeling wasnt stressing her too much. I felt so dumb walking into the Hospital. It was after 9pm and the security guard saw me walking in alone and started to tell me I needed to hurry and get to the 3rd floor where Labor and Deliver is. I told him I am waiting for my husband to park the car. He then told me, that can wait..you just hurry and get to the 3rd floor. Right then Dave walked in and we both went to the 3rd floor. So at the door to call in Dave picked up the phone and said to the lady at the other end, "my wife has stomach pains..." hahaha... then when we were let in he proceeded to say to the nurse, "I think my wife is pregnant"...DUH! I love my husband! :) So to make a long story shorter, they strapped me up to the heart monitor to track the babies heartbeat and another for contractions. I told the Dr I am not having contractions and that I just want to make sure the pain I am feeling is normal. As the DR was talking to me she said, "you say you aren't having any contractions... well you are! And they are very regular. About 5 min apart." That is when I realized the pressure was a contraction. Man am I a genius! And the sharp pains were me being dehydrated. So they did my FIRST pelvic exam and I am dialated to a ONE and 50% effaced. Very cool.... and the Dr also said I will most likely only carry till I am 37-38 weeks along. CRAZY cuz I am 36 weeks along tomorrow!
Well enuf of all this mumbo jumbo... I better finish all the baby stuff I still need to do before she comes!

Grrr....

I have had 2 baby showers for our little girl, which have been awesome!! I received great baby items. I even received the same pair of baby shoes 3 times!! haha... Anyways, to make a long story short, I went today to Target to go exchange those cute little shoes and other items for a gift card so I could get some other baby stuff I still need. I walk up to the counter and the lady told me I needed to print off my baby registry. So I go print it off and waited in line again to try to return the items and get a gift card. So finally it is my turn again and the lady (new lady) didn't know why I printed off my registry. So I told her the other lady asked me to print it off. I explained to the lady that I received items that weren't on my registry and only one that was. The original lady heard me telling the new lady my situation and got all upset and told me I cant return my items without a receipt. I know I cant return any of the items without a receipt and I would have brought one had I received gift receipts. So now what do you do with duplicate shoes and other items you didn't register for? I tried to find the shoes online to register for them and no luck.
So if anyone has a suggestion as to what I should do please help! Oh and yes, I did contact two of the people that got me the shoes and they don't know where they have placed their receipts...

My Very Own Gangster!

Okay, so on Halloween Dave didnt know what he wanted to be! So I borrowed a tattoo sleeve from a co-worker and brought it home so Dave could be dressed up as K-Fed... I know, unoriginal but it turned out great! PLUS, we had no idea my brother was going dressed up as a hustler.... hahahaha! This picture is awesome!

THANKS to everyone who came to my baby shower! It turned out great! I received very thoughful gifts and am so excited to be able to use them when MaKenna arrives. Also, thanks to Dave for giving me a wonderful Birthday weekend. Friday night we had friends over for a little early birthday dinner. Saturday after my baby shower he took me to Heber and we got a hotel and stayed the night. Sounds cheesey that we live 30 min away from Heber but most likely that will be out last little get away before MaKenna is here. He took me shopping to my favorite place... TARGET!! :) Gosh, am I easy to please or what?! We did walk around the outlets in Park City but in my mind I wanted to go to Target and get some cute clothes. After getting back from Heber on Sunday we had dinner at my parents house. It was tasty!!

Thanks Dave for all you do for me. Thanks for making the weekend special. You always know what to do to make me smile and be happy. I love you and cant wait for MaKenna to be here so she can see what a great dad she has!!

Baby Shower Gift

Kylee and I made this gift for my sister Ashley for her baby shower. I think it is adorable!!

Kylee rolled all 100 diapers to make this beautiful 2 tiered diaper cake!

We bought the little teddy bear and I made the tutu for it. The tutu will actually be for Edyn to wear but it looked so dang cute on the bear. And so did the headband and the flower. This whole gift is usable, which is the best part!!

Baby Bump

Here is my baby bump. I think this was at 20 weeks. I am almost 22 weeks now and feel like I have grown a lot since this pic. I am still gonna get a picture of my sis Ashley with her baby bump and me with mine.

Cheese! hahahah.... Dave wanted me to hold my belly and I said it looks cheesy. So here is my "happy" face. :)

Progress on baby room

We decided to change the color of the baby room from green to cream and brown. We figured natural colors would be best. Since my brother in law AJ is a painter, he came in handy getting the room painted. Paisley also helped too! :)








No, I really didn't help paint. I just wanted to pretend I did something to help out with the room!

Finished product! Top is cream and bottom is brown. We had our neighbor but up the chair rail for us. We really love the way the room turned out!

OKay, so I dont catch on to fads when they are happening... I always heard everyone talking about the Stephanie Meyers books and how amazing they are. So FINALLY I opened the first book to start reading... And finished it in a couple days. Would have been sooner but I work full time. OMG...I have never loved a book so much! I started New Moon the same day I finished Twilight. I am already half way through that book too! For sure I will have all four books read here shortly. AND I cant wait for the movie Twilight to come out 12-12-08!!! :) Anyone want to join me 12-12-08 is more than welcome too!

Just a little update

So it has been a week or so since I have written. So i though I would update everyone on how things are. My pregnancy is going good so far. I cant believe I am almost half way through it! And it will go by soo fast! I swear I just remember my friend Elona announcing she was pregnant and she is due in less than 2 weeks!! And my sis Ashley is due in 2 months with her little girl. It has been really nice having her pregnant at the same time as me. I probably call/text her everyday asking her questions about pregnancy. I will put up a pic of us pregnant here in a couple days.
So we are going to be starting to paint the baby room here real soon. We finally decided on colors and now are ready to paint! Anyone want to help?! :)
If any of you have suggestions of where to buy a crib let me know! This is all new to me!!
