Easter 2011

We had an Easter Egg hunt at my parents house the day before Easter. MaKenna loved running and getting as many eggs as she could. Her cousin Kai was so sweet and would put eggs in her bucket if it was a girl color. It was fun seeing all the cousins having a good time together.

This is Easter morning and boy was Makie excited!! She loved that she got Despicable Me! She loves that movie. She also got a lot of other fun coloring books and a darling swimsuit that I can't wait to put on her. This year I also told her why we really celebrate Easter. Don't think it made much sense to her but next year I am sure it will.
I didnt take any pictures of Lincoln but he got an Easter basket as well.

A friend of ours gave me a infant photo shoot as a baby shower gift for Lincoln. She came and took them in our house when he was a week old. The funny thing is that the whole time he was wide awake! But he was a good boy and let us try to position him and only cried a few times. Here are a few photos of his little photo shoot.

Happy Birthday Lincoln John Neal

I will share with you the lovely story of Lincoln's delivery.

I go in for my regular 38 week check up on April 4, 2011 and guess what? Just like Makie, my blood pressure is through the roof. 162/92 to be exact. So the cute nurse tells me that she wants to check my blood pressure again and that she wants me to be relaxed and think of happy things. Well the only thing I could think of was, GET THIS KID OUT OF ME!! Once again my blood pressure is taken and it is still just as high. So they tell me to go to the room and that Dr. Ollerton will be in shortly to check on me. By this point Dave is ecstatic thinking that I just might be having Lincoln today!! He was way more anxious than I was. As I wait in the room for the Dr I am starting to feel nervous just like the day they told me that I would be walking over to the hospital to have MaKenna once my appointment was done. Almost like deja vu. But the only difference was this time I had my bags packed and they were with me. Just like I expected Dr. Ollerton walks in and tells me that he is going to call Labor and Delivery to let them know that I will be on my way there in the next few minutes. EEK!
As I get all settled in the hospital in my room I actually start to get nervous. I knew at that moment we will no longer be a family of three but four soon! After getting all settled with the pitocin and the Dr breaking my water it was now just the waiting game. Soon after that the nurse comes and and asks me when I want my epidural and I say when the contracts are getting bad. Few minutes later she comes back and tells me that the Dr wants me to get it ASAP so my blood pressure will stay down. When the nurse calls the anesthesiologist he is on his lunch break and wont be able to do it for an hour or so. By this time (12:30 pm) when the anesthesiologist actually makes it in to my room, my contractions are starting to get pretty bad and I am so happy that he is there to help with the pain.
My cute parents were there for a for a few hours just chilling with me, Dave and MaKenna. It was nice to have them there and keep us company. Right around 5pm my parents decide to leave and they take MaKenna with them. I believe by this time I was only dilated to a 6 so we figured it would be a while before I would have to start pushing. Dave decides to go get something to eat and while Dave is gone I all of a sudden get this HUGE amount of pain in my lower area and have the feeling that I need to start pushing. It is then that I realize first, my epidural has worn off and second that I may be dilated a lot more than ten minutes ago. Soon after Dave walks in and I can hardly handle the pain and I tell him to grab the nurse because I may start pushing on my own and don't think Dave is qualified to be the Dr at the moment. As the nurse checks me she tells us that I am ready to start pushing and she grabs Dr. Ollerton. Amazing that in less than
ten minutes I am pushing this little guy out. It was pretty intense because babies heart rate would drop as my contraction would come. Did I mention my contractions were less than a minute apart? So the Dr was starting to get anxious and told me I would have to push him out in the next few pushes or they would have to use the vacuum. I was having a hard time breathing so they had to put oxygen on me and I think that only made it worse. Within ten minutes of me pushing Lincoln John Neal was born on April 4th! 6 lbs 15 oz and 19 inches long. His lungs were having a hard time soon after he was born so they had to take him to start working on his lungs, so I only got to see him for a couple minutes. I was nervous but Dave would send me pictures of him and told me he was fine and they were gonna bathe him. I sat in my room alone for 30 minutes before they brought him to me. I was so happy to see my handsome boy. I just love him and he fits right in with our family.

Happy birthday to my sweet little girl, MaKenna!
She turned 2 on December 30th. I thought it would be fun to have it themed Olivia because it is one of her favorite shows! It took me some time to make the banner but she loved it!

Better late than never! This past year I decided that the Wilkins family needed to start a tradition. So, my mom and I planned a Christmas party with all of us at my house. We usually just get together on Christmas day but to me, that just wasn't enough. Oh and to make it a fun party, I decided it should be an ugly sweater Christmas party. We had a blast!!

This blog is incredible. This lady is inspiring me to become the handy man in the family. No dissing my husband in all but boy his hands are softer than mine!!! I kept showing him projects this lady has made and while I was at it I was throwing in a little...."See SHE made this" and "Wow, the LADY can make anything". No offense taken by Dave, his reply was "Well then, since SHE can make those items so can you." Not what I was going for but I guess I can do it too then. Of course with a little help of my father in law who has to be the best handy man around. When he is finished working on my brothers basement, I may have to borrow him for a few easy project that have to be made. Now, which project should I do first??? What do you think?

Why Me??

Today has been one of those days.... I feel like no matter what I do its wrong or am being wronged. I guess I am going to have a pitty party. Wanna join?
I woke up this morning at quarter to ten and already knew my day would be bad. Its never a good day for me if I wake up that late. I was already feeling kinda down to begin with and so it was inevitable that I would end up feeling like I would just need to hop back in bed and sleep the day away. I almost did too. When it was time for MaKenna do go down for her nap, I almost went to bed myself. Too bad I didn't.
I keep telling myself its not healthy for me to stress or feel down, especially when I am prego. So this is my attempt to write down my stresses and then let it go.
So, here I go...
Stress #1- I lost my unemployment because my old employer appealed and won. Hope they have a great Christmas full of coal in their stockings.
Stress #2- Our heater/furnace is on the fritz we have had 3 guys out to see what is the deal and they have no idea!
Stress #3- I have no control over my emotions so that gets me in trouble.
Stress #4- I have so many items on my to do list that I feel like they will not get done in time. That includes Christmas shopping. (sorry Dave)
Stress #5- We finally were feeling we were on top of things then everything comes crashing down all in the same week. Is it ever going to end this roller coaster of good and bad? I would love a steady plateau of good luck. NO MORE UP AND DOWN!

Okay, so there ya go. Its out and now I need to buck up! To get me going on the right track I am going to list items I am grateful for!
#1- I am pregnant with a BOY!!! and that we are both healthy.
#2- We live in a fantastic home with a great ward.
#3- I have a fantastic family that loves me and I love them.
#4- We have no car payments... that is such an amazing feeling.
#5- Christmas is next week and it is the best time of the year!
#6- Last but most important, I am grateful for my relationship with the Lord that when I feel down I can turn to him and I know he listens and loves me.

Okay, time to be happy and relax and enjoy this time of the year and know that

I just have to say that I love MaKenna! She really says the funniest things already! Here are a few things to add to the list.

Me: "Makie, those are Uncle AJ's candies, not yours."
MaKenna: "Okay my mommy. Its my AJ's tanny."
MaKenna thinks when we call her MaKenna, we are calling her MY KENNA. So everyone is my daddo, my mommy, my grandma.... So darn cute!

Me: "MaKenna, what do you want to eat?"
MaKenna: "PIZZA...umm.. hamburger and fenfries!"
This is an everyday response from her! She even requests that for breakfast!

Me: "Time for bed Makie."
MaKenna: " Okay mommy. Umm... bankie, tear bear and duckie too."
If I didn't limit her to what she could have in bed with her, she would have all of her toys!

Its a BOY!

On Monday were found out the gender of the peanut! When the doc started the ultra sound we instantly saw what we thought was male genitalia. So the doc said he normally doesn't state the gender right at the beginning but since we all saw what he did he just told us. He went back to what we saw and stated we were having a BOY! Dave was grinning from ear to ear. So cute! I really am happy that Dave will be having his boy. I think we just assumed we would be having a girl, since that is what us Wilkins girls seem to do. But I finally broke the mold! We continued with the ultrasound and everything looks great. We already have a 1 pounder and hopefully he will be larger than the typical Neal baby boys. I sure hope he gets his height from my side of the family. I actually really wouldn't mind if he ends up being as tall as my brother Dennis.
So, I do have a bunch of ultrasound photos but I am choosing not to post them because who wants to see the privates of someone elses baby anyways? PLUS, I am too lazy to scan the photos to post them. :)

Halloween

This Halloween was pretty entertaining! MaKenna understood it a little and she loved getting candy from people. She did have a hard time though seeing people with scary costumes. I had to keep saying that those people were silly. MaKenna dressed up as a white tiger, I was a witch and Dave was the abominable snowman. Sadly, I do not have a good picture of Dave showing off his sweet costume!

The Drama Queen Has Arrived!

Wow, in a matter of days MaKenna went from a sweet almost obedient toddler to a diva! When she doesn't get what she wants she cries and cries. Now this cry is different than her other 10 cries. This one contains hands over face, belly on the floor and a high pitch scream! It actually makes me laugh but to her it is serious business!!
This cry happens at least twice a day. She thinks it must be proving a point but I just shrug it off and continue what I am doing, not taking notice of the diva in the room.
I can only imagine this is the beginning of the lovely terrible two's. Yippy Skippy!

17 Week Appointment

Today I had my 17 week dr check up! Everything went well and I heard the peanuts heartbeat. It is always reassuring to hear the pitter patter of my baby since you cant see anything! I do feel the kicks every once in a while so that helps me too. I already love this baby so much and cant wait to meet him or her in 23 weeks! Wow that seems so far away! I have been debating of getting the early ultra sound and have decided to wait until my dr does it. So we have that scheduled and we will be finding out the gender on December 6th!!!! Only 29 more days to go... I think I can hold out.

Today is COLD and I feel good

Today is freezing! The storm last night was crazy!! I really thought our house was going to pick up and take off in the wind. If only it would take us to the Wizard of Oz..... I didn't get any sleep because the power was off and I was starting to get cold and I have a allergies or a cold so my nose was a river. But my morning/night sickness is gone?! Maybe...its been a couple days and I feel like a normal person again. I dont feel like I am going to throw up every five seconds and I can actually go in my kitchen without dry heaving! So all in all I feel good and am a happy camper.
I am debating if I am going to go to the South Town Mall and go to the early ultra sound with this baby. I went with MaKenna at 17 week and it was such a blast! I am only 15 weeks now and know if I go it wont be for 2 more weeks. I just wish I owned an ultrasound machine, now that would be sweet!!!

G Wagon Love

Tonight the cutest thing happened! I was telling Dave that the car I want now is a Mercedes G Wagon. It changes daily, yesterday a BMW and last week a Volvo XC90. (Doesn't hurt to dream right?!) Anyways, I asked MaKenna if she wanted a G Wagon and she said YES! So I basically told Dave that he has to get us one now because MaKenna wanted one for Mommy. So he kindly asked MaKenna if she had $100,000 dollars and she said yes. Then he said, "okay Makie, go get your piggy bank and we will start counting how much you have saved in there." Off MaKenna went and she walked back to us with her piggy bank and handed it to Dave! What a cutie!! Too bad she was about $99,995 short!
Love you MaKenna!! You make me so happy!!

Splash Park with Friends

There is this great splash park near our home and what fun it is! We have been a couple times and MaKenna is warming up to the idea of water spraying up from the ground. The first day we went with her little cousins and she wouldn't go near it. The second time she went with her little friend Sophie and they both were timid at first but loved it by the end. Neither of them really got too wet but weren't too afraid of sticking their feet and hands in the water.

Growing Up So Fast!!

Do I like the fact MaKenna is growing up so fast?? NO!! I look at pictures of her when she turned one and look at her now at 21 months and think, holy! She has changed so much!! She is such a big girl. Here are a few things she does to show she is a big girl.

MaKenna: "Mommy...Mommy!!!"
Me: "What Makie"
MaKenna: "Poopie...Poopie Mommy"
Me: "Oh Makie, are you poopie??"
MaKenna: "Mommy poopie"
Then she checks my bum to see if I am poopie.

MaKenna: "Mommy!!! Peepee mommy" (as she is pulling her diaper off)
Me: "Do you need to go pee pee?? Do you want to go in the big girl toilet?"
MaKenna: (with her eyes all lite up) "Yeeesss. Pee pee."
We walk into the bathroom and go to the toilet, for the first time ever and stick her on it and she goes pee!!! I have never seen such a happy little girl when she heard her first tinkle in the toilet!! I guess now it is time to start potty training her and time to buy a little toilet seat for the big girl toilet so she doesn't fall in!

MaKenna is too smart for her own good. I had an empty box in the kitchen and she tipped it over and pushed it to our candy drawer and stood on top of it, opened up the drawer and opened every sucker she could get to! When I walked in the kitchen to see what the wrapper sound was and she noticed me, she knew she was in trouble. But she sounded so cute when she yelled, "Mommy, tanny!!!"

I have had terrible allergies this last month and have been blowing my nose a lot. So this is the out come of me blowing my nose.
MaKenna: "Ewww mommy!! EEEWWWWWW!!!"
Me: "What is Eww Makie?"
MaKenna: "Ewwwww" As she points to my face.
I look in the mirror and I have a small boogie on my nose and apparently it grossed her out!! HAHA!

Sir Paul

On July 13th I had the very lucky opportunity to go to the Paul McCartney concert. I had always wanted to attend a concert that a Beatle would be singing at... and finally I was able! I was so giddy! I went with my cute dad! We went to dinner before the show and got VIP parking so we wouldn't have to walk far to the stadium. We paid for the cheapest tickets but in the lower section and gee were they good tickets! (btw the tickets sold out in less than 30 min) We were on the row right above the floor level and perfect vision of the stage. I couldn't believe my eyes when Sir Paul walked out!! I was one of those crazy girls screaming and jumping up and down... hahaha! I pretty much sang to every song and so did my dad! Paul literally sang from 8 pm to 11 pm.

Fall Is Here

I really can't believe it is already September. We are already over half way through the month and funny how the weather is still in the upper 80's here in Utah. That's okay though, soon enough it will be cold and we will all go back to wishing it was the middle of summer. Yes, I have already put up all my Halloween decor and it looks so good! If Walmart can put their stuff up, well dang it, so can I! BUT..... I will be holding out for Christmas decor until Thanksgiving is over.
We finally have carpet in our basement. No more having to put my shoes on before I go downstairs in fear of stepping on a nail or my feet turning white with all the dust from the drywall. We still don't have any furniture in the family room. One day will will furnish it. Until then, it is our playroom for Makie to run around and play in. And she loves it!!!
I was recently called to serve as the Mia Maid adviser. With that I need to teach TWICE a month.... me teach and let alone teach twice a month! AHHHHHH!!! I did survive the first lesson I had to teach and I think it turned out fine. A little bribe here and there with candy works really well.
MaKenna is growing up so fast. I go back and look at pictures of her from a couple months ago and she doesn't even look like that anymore. Everyday she is changing and it makes me sad! But I am so happy that she is a healthy little girl who runs, screams, pulls my hair when she is mad and talks non-stop. And lets not forget how independent she is. She wants to do everything on her own. We recently when to Moab and hiked the arches. We attempted to put her in this backpacks so she could just enjoy the ride.... NO... She wanted to hike all on her own and that is what she did. She is a trooper. She loves being outside, picking up rocks and licking them. Don't ask me why licking them is part of her routine but that is what she does. She loves her stroller and baby and will push them outside for hours if I let her. She loves to swing and will yell "high" so we will push her higher. She is so much fun!!!
I love being a mom and even more love being MaKenna's mom!!!

To work or not to work

Are there days you just want to rip out your hair?? We all have those days. For 2 months I stressed about Dave and his work situation. (or the lack thereof) And its a good thing I still have hair!!!
Its amazing how much pressure being jobless can put on someone. We searches high and low for a job for Dave. One Wednesday afternoon he saw a job posting and was hesitant to apply because of his last experience with insurance. But he applied regardless. Within an hour or so of applying he got a call for an interview. YIPPY SKIPPY! First call received after sending 40 resumes out. He went in the next day to interview and they loved him. They asked him to come in for a second interview the following week. Also they asked him to take a comprehensive test and have it done before his next interview. He took it that same night and waited for his second interview to come.
Tuesday rolls around and he meets with the CEO and feels good after that interview as well. They tell him that he will know if he got the job or not by the end of the week. So we wait and wait..... Along with the waiting we prayed and prayed and did I mention PRAYED?? We wanted this job so bad. SO FINALLY we get the phone call on Friday and they couldnt offer him the job because of the test they had him take. WHAT? FOR REAL? He scored lower in the one section that they were looking at for that certain position. And every other section of the test he did great. grrrr.... I was so upset and had to learn to humble myself and realize maybe even though we felt that this position would be great for him, maybe it wasn't the right job for Dave. So on the job search again. A week later they call Dave back and say they have a different position available and that they would like to interview him for that. Yah! Dave liked the company, so he was pretty happy about that. So Dave goes in for the interview, likes the position but still wants the other one. TWO WEEKS goes by and he doesn't hear back from the company and we just assume that they hired someone else. So Dave emails the guy who contacted him in the first place and they say that they will know by the end of the week. So, that is a month gone by waiting to see if Dave will get a job with this company or not. I dont think I have ever prayed so much for something!! By this time my prayers started out as.... " Sorry to bug you again Lord, but PLEEEEAAASSEEE let Dave get this job." The end of the week comes and goes and we don't hear anything!! Finally on Tuesday he gets the call and they hired someone else. GEEZ.... ONE MONTH AND NOTHING! So we come to terms that working for that company wasn't going to happen. Then... (drum roll) they call him Thursday and they want to hire him for the 1st position he had originally interviewed for. After a month of looking for someone they realized that Dave was the perfect fit!!
Its nice to have an employed husband and now my prayers start out with a THANKS and not PLEEEAASSSEEE!!

Laguna Beach

We took my sweet mom to Laguna Beach for a much needed vacation. We stayed at the Montage Spa and Resort. Wow...that is all I can say. So glad we were able to go despite the fact Dave didn't have a job. But we needed to get out of town and relax. PLUS we only really paid a very small amount for the trip. The hotels were paid for by the Ellen Show and so was the gas. Cant beat that!

Thank you for always being there for MaKenna. She sure loves you. When mommy and daddy just isn't enough, you always step in and make everything better. Our trip to California in January consisted of rain and more rain. It rained so much the two days we were there. I was pretty sick the whole trip because I got car sick on the way to the airport and then hopped on the plane and then had a crazy driver take us to the hotel. So, I felt yucky the whole time. Not a fun way to spend a get away. I was anxiously awaiting the for the taping of the Ellen show. They didnt allow cameras so I wasnt able to take any pictures even in the shop they didnt allow cameras. OH well.... The trip was fun and I cant wait to go to the show again.

twas an interesting day! We, as in MaKenna and I, were evacuated from our home because of a gas leak that happened on our street from the road construction, I call Dave to tell him and my phone dies in the middle of our conversation, then we are allowed 45 min later back into our homes, so I charge my phone and call Dave back... very unhappy husband! He was so worried that something had happened to us and I dont blame him. Anyways, lesson learned. Find another phone to call him from and tell him my phone died. Not me! haha

I swear just when I finally catch up on this blog.... I am behind again!! geez....... So, I have so many pictures I want to post but I am not sure where my cord is to download the pictures. :( So for now, I'll update by word.
MaKenna is almost walking!! She is so stinking close! She takes a few steps then realizes what she is doing and falls on her bum. She is so funny! Luv my little pumpkin!
Dave's job is going well. I love the fact it is a stable job. I finally feel that I can breath again. phew!
So on January 18th we flew out to California to go to a taping of the Ellen Show. It was neat to have the show fly us out and put us in a hotel. Our driver that picked us up from the airport was a crazy driver. I got sooo car sick, I was sure I was going to throw up in the back seat. It rain pretty much the whole time we were in California. I was pretty bummed because we leave the snowy Utah weather to rainy California weather. So we spend one night and CA and then another driver (thankfully) picks us up and we are dropped off at the show. I was sooo excited I couldn't hold it in. The taping was AMAZING! It left me wanting more!!!!!!!!!!! The best part was that when she does her dancing part she said hi to me as she walked up the stairs. It was fun! No, I didn't get to meet her but I did get to meet all the kind people who first called me after I had emailed the show. They were all so sweet. As we were walking out, cute Jeannie ran out and said hi to me. For those of you who don't know who Jeannie is, she was the cute girl who came to our house the day I got the hugest surprise ever!! That is one day I will NEVER forget!!
So here I sit today and think, what is next in store for me????
Maybe, trying to find my cord and download pics?? hahahaha

So as I sit here reading all of everyone's Christmas, I realize I haven't posted anything for over a month! So let me do some catching up on what is going on with the Neal family.
November was a good month... I worked and had a fantastic Thanksgiving full of good food and laughter..
December was an even better month... Dave found a job!! And we got the hugest surprise of our lifes. As of now, I cant post why but those of you who are family know why! Yes, it was a great month...full of presents and more presents! All I can say is on January 4th at 3pm Utah time... watch the Ellen Show.. okay.

This HALLOWEEN was so much fun... We went trick of treating!! I know, we took our 10 month old trick or treating and she doesnt eve eat candy. No worries, we took care of the candy... yum! At my parents house we had a Halloween party, hosted by my sister Ashley. It was a lot of fun. We had a donut eating contest, three legged contest, wheel barrow contest and costume contest. I kinda have been slacking in the blog area. Since the move I really cant find anything and have been too lazy to find anything as well! haha. Anyways, here is a little of what we have been doing this summer.

We went to the Lave Hot Springs in Idaho the end of July for the weekend. It was a lot of fun. It was also MaKenna's first time in a swimming pool. She loved it but the movement actually put her to sleep!! We had fun with the whole Neal Family!

Economy Stresses...

I know all of us in some way are feeling the stesses of the economy right now. We see it on the news all the time! I myself have been feeling it harder lately and it seems like it will never end. I have been down in the dumps and realized why... yeah we may not be able to do those things we want to right now but it is for a small moment. I have to agree with the bolded paragraph below.... I have been sitting around hoping things will get better and not trying to find someone who needs the help right now. If I can just reach out to someone else and help them in their time of need, maybe just maybe I will forget my own stresses! I am gonna try it out! Any takers?!

Locked OUT!

So two nights ago I locked myself out of the house. I hate when that happens..BUT its worse when your baby is inside SLEEPING! AH! I literally had to chase down my brother and sister in law down the driveway to see if they had a key to get into my house. They tried calling Dave to see where he was and no answer... called my in laws but they didnt have a spare key. Penny remembered that there was a spare key hidden just in case this happened. YES!!! So after about 5 minutes (felt like an eternity) I was in my house looking at MaKenna sound asleep. I really almost was in tears because it scared me so bad. Within 5 minutes of being back in the house MaKenna woke up and I as so glad to be there for her. The craziest part is what if I didn't catch my bro in law driving off... I would have been locked out for 45 minutes! When Dave got home I told him all about it... Gosh was I glad Penny saved the day!

Pond/Beach?

Okay, so I was snooping around other peoples blogs and saw some really cute pictures of a little girl at what looked like the beach. Then I read that it is a pond with cement all the way around except for one side with sand.... She said it is in Spanish Fork. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE IT IS??? I want to go so bad! I almost left her a comment asking where it is but didn't want to freak her out! I did see the mountains kinda close so it must be up the canyon? PLEASE... 6 Months Old!!

Oh my little MaKie is 6 months old! I cant even believe it! Time really does fly. I swear it was just yesterday that she was born. I remember holding this tiny little baby in my arms and all she did was sleep all day. Now MaKenna is a wiggle worm!! She loves to be tickled and loves when we scare her. Strange I know but she loves it! Here are her measurements from her check up.

We Moved!

So we have moved to good ol PROVO! Right now we live in a one bedroom house right next to Dave's older bro. So far so good... Lets start out with all the excitement we have had...
Fridge/Freezer stopped working after one day
SWAMP cooler was blowing hot air

Got a bad spider bite on my leg in two spots
It poured Friday night and our stuff was still out in the trailer in the driveway
Our oven isnt working...

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

Yesterday was my dads birthday and with my grandpa being in town from california we decided to go to the Oquirrh Mountain temple open house. My grandpa had never been to an open house and wanted to experience it. Plus he wanted to know what the inside of a temple looked like. I could see from his eyes that he was in ah of how beautiful each room was. Dave and I both agreed that the feeling of walking through a temple that is not dedicated just isn't the same as going through a dedicated temple. Regardless I felt the spirit many times yesterday. I hope my grandpa enjoyed seeing the temple and felt the spirit as I did. Here are some picture we took out on the temple grounds.

MaKenna and I went to the zoo today. We went with Grandma and Grandpa Neal, Uncle Mike, Aunt Amy and the cousins. It was so nice outside! I enjoyed seeing all the animals. MaKenna....well slept most of the time and when she was awake played with her toys. We went on the train ride too! That was fun. I held MaKenna on my lap as we rode around the zoo. She LOVED it! She was just looking at everything with her big eyes! I think that was the highlight of the whole trip.
As we were looking at the penguins Carter decided he wanted to throw his hat at them and actually threw his hat over the gated area!!!! haha... So they had to go get a worker to get his hat. Silly boy! Keegan stuck by my side most of the time. When we saw the leopards and the jaguars he told me his new name was Leopard Man because he is as fast as them. But the only difference was that he was a nice leopard.
We went and saw the giraffes. I love them! We went inside the building and saw one giraffe walking around and around in a little room. He would grab a bite to eat and just keep walking around and round. Then all of a sudden stopped right in front of us and stared a man down who was standing next to us. It was quite funny!
The kids rode the merry go round and it looked like they had a great time. Grandma Neal rode with Keegan and Amy with Carter. Watching them go round and round made me sick! I was able to get one picture of them but you can only see Barbara!
I will post pictures when I can find my usb cord.

Okay, so all along I was going for Kris. So him winning tonight totally made my day! He deserves to win. His voice is great and will get better in time. Sometimes I wonder if American Idol is rigged though. I think everyone including myself thought Adam was going to win. But I was still calling in last night voting for Kris. I even had Dave calling too! We only got through 4 times... that's it! But I know my 4 votes helped him win! I will be buying Kris' CD when it comes out! Good job Kris! I am so glad you are the next American Idol!

Our little MaKenna had her four month check up today. Oh I hate those dang immunizations! I cry along with MaKenna when she gets her shots. My poor little baby.... anyways, here are her stats for her check up!

4 Month Old Already!?!?!

I cant believe MaKenna is 4 months old already. Time has really gone by so fast! I remember being pregnant and don't think the time when by as fast. I cant believe how big MaKenna is! She is 11 lbs! She is perfect! She no longer is sick so that is a huge relief. She now has discovered her bottom lip. She sucks on it like it is going to run off her face. :) She even sucks on her bottom lip in her sleep. A couple nights ago Dave and I gave her a bath and she was splashing so much!! I was laughing so hard she started to laugh too! I loved every second of it!! I pretty much ended up all wet after giving her that bath. Being a parent is so rewarding.

Last Sunday 2 more babies were blessed in my ward. I am happy we blessed MaKenna on Easter Sunday so she was the only baby blessed that day. Anyways, just this last Sunday, we were told that someone who blessed their baby named their little girl McKenna Jane... WHAT? Are you kidding me?! THAT IS MY BABIES NAME..SPELLED BETTER OF COURSE! If we would have been their I probably would have freaked out! Its a good thing we stayed home. (MaKenna has been sick...we are not just ditching) Alright.. I am done venting!!

I think it is awesome that Edyn and MaKenna are going to be in the same grade in school. I never had cousins growing up and never was able to share cousin things with anyone. So I am so happy that MaKenna will have that! Even better that Edyn and MaKenna are only 2 1/2 months apart. I can tell they are already good friends. Ashley and I like to lay them next to each other and let them just stare at each other. It is really funny when Edyn first noticed MaKenna. I think she stared at MaKenna for like 5 minutes straight! Too funny!
Anyways, these photos are from Easter Sunday. As you can see I got picture happy!! This is MaKenna's first Easter and not only did the Easter Bunny come but she was Blessed. Good times.....

Easter and Blessing Day!

On Easter Sunday MaKenna was blessed. It was such a beautiful day outside, which made it a more beautiful day. The dress MaKenna wore was this very pretty crocheted dress. It has little pearls all around it. It was so pretty. Thanks April, for letting us borrow it!
The blessing was amazing. I am more and more grateful for Dave each day. He is such a great dad and an amazing husband. The blessing was so perfect for MaKenna. I wrote down some items that he said during the blessing but one that I really liked was that he blessed that MaKenna and I will be best friends and stay close to each other. I already consider MaKenna my besty and hope it stays that way!!
For the blessing circle the guys who stood in were: Dave, Grandpa Wilkins, Grandpa Neal, Uncle Mike Telford, Uncle Adam Starker, Kevin Davis, Tim McReavy, Jess Baldwin, Brock Hunsaker and Dallas Dorton. Jesse White was supposed to be in the circle as well but they were late. I guess Preston, their little guy had a potty issue. hahah! Our ward starts at 1pm in the dot. No "mormon standard time" in our ward!! So we had a few people show up late. :)
After the blessing we went to my parents house for food. It was all tasty. My mother did a great job getting everything ready for it. There was more than enuf food. I loved especially that the food served wasn't sandwiches! It was BBQ Chicken wings! Not your typical Mormon get together food.
The Neal's had family in town from California. It was really great seeing them again and it made MaKenna's blessing day all the more special. It is wonderful to have family that we are close to. I think having a close family bond makes life a little more wonderful and worth while.
Thanks for all of those who came to MaKenna's blessing and who helped out! Its crazy to think I am at that point in my life where we have blessed our child. They say, "time flies when you are having fun!"

Allergies or a Cold?!

So last night we had quite the episode with MaKenna. I was nursing her and she started to cry. So I decided to burp her thinking maybe she had a bubble in her tummy. I was trying everything to get her to calm down. I laid her on her back (on MY bed) and was rubbing her belly. Nothing was working. All of a sudden her eyes get all big and she started to THROW UP! Not spit up but throwing up all over the place. I jumped off the bed and had her throw up on the carpet. In the mean time she was choking on her mucus she was throwing up. She was going through periods of not breathing because of the thick mucus she was trying to cough up. I was panicking so I was screaming for Dave to help me out. He got her to calm down finally after about 15 minutes. I started the shower so I could clean off because I was pretty wet from her throwing up on me. Dave decided to put her in the shower with me to help loosen the mucus. SUCCESS! She was breathing normal again. I just stood in the shower for a while with her and she LOVED it! The whole time I held her I was so happy that she was okay, the bed on the other hand had throw up everywhere! The pillows and the sheets were a mess. OOPS! haha
All night I kept a close EAR on her to make sure she was okay. She still sounds pretty congested and she does cough a lot almost throwing up every time. She doesn't look like she is struggling for breath but I can hear stuffiness for sure. We have a vaporizer we are using right now to try to help. Side note: since she was born she has always sounded stuffy or congested. My dad thinks she has allergies, maybe allergic to our dog. :( But I think since she has been stuffy and now is crying a lot more like she is uncomfortable, I think she has a cold of some sort.
Anyone has suggestions? Or has anyone had their little one go through something like this?!

Sunday was a very nice day. It was overcast but still warm. SO we decided to go on a walk. First we were thinking of putting MaKenna in the little back pack thingy we have (which I LOVE). Then I decided lets try the stroller out! (Thanks Ashley for giving me the stroller!!!!) We laughed so hard once we put MaKenna in the stroller. We could hardly see her! This stroller you can hook up your car seat to it but ours didn't connect correctly so we just stuck her in the front and we were on our way. Since I could only see her from the peep hole on the top, I kept asking Dave to check on her. He told me her eyes were WIDE open looking around. I wonder what she was thinking... :)

Baby MaKenna

MaKenna and I were very lucky to have Cristi take photos of us. Well mainly MaKenna. I had so much fun! On the other hand, MaKenna didnt! She cried most of the time. The photo shoot took a very long time because she was so sad. So in between pictures being taken, I was feeding her. I absolutely love the photos. The turned out amazing. MaKenna is a doll!! I sure do LUVVVV her!!!

One Month Old

I cant believe that MaKenna is already one month old. Wow, time has flown!! I remember going to my 38 week appointment for a normal check up and the Dr telling me that my blood pressure was too high and that I needed to be induced that day! That was a reality check! Then when I called Dave to tell him that I was walking into the hospital to have our baby, his reaction was priceless.
Being a mom is amazing. I love Makenna and all the little things she does. I love when she stares at me when I talk to her. AND she even has already smiled at me!!!! She sleeps pretty good at night and even better during the day. I love how her cheeks are starting to fill in. She now has a belly and isn't this little wrinkly body. I could just stare at her all day!!! She still can't fit in her newborn clothes but she is almost there!! YAH!! I cant wait cuz we only bought a few preemie outfits and those are getting a little tight.
I love you MaKenna!

Baby Makenna is here everyone!!! She is so cute!! She weighs 5 lbs 8 oz and is 17 1/2 inches long. We love her so much! I will post pictures when we get home from the hospital. :)

So, growing up when Santa visited my family he brought us wonderful gifts wrapped up in beautiful wrapping paper. And of course the excitement was incredible looking to see who the presents belonged to. Now that I am married I am seeing other ways Santa delivers gifts.. unwrapped under the tree. I can see how that would be exciting as well! And how time saving it can be too.
How did Santa deliver gifts to you as a kid and how is he doing it with your current families?! I just want to see what kind of traditions you have, so Dave and I can get some ideas for our future family!

Christmas Sneaking Up on Me Again!

I am sitting here at work thinking of how I swear it was just Christmas.. As usual it has snuck up on me! I cant believe it is this time of year again. Dave and I have had so many distractions this holiday season that we haven't been able to soak up the MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! Dave likes to make fun of me because I love Christmas so much, I am the kind of person who has to put up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and I start listening to Christmas music right around the same time. I feel like I am still putting stuff up around the house for Christmas and will never have it done like I did last year. We haven't even gone to Temple Square like we always do.... I think the only Christmas stuff we have done this year was the Festival of Trees and we took our niece Emery to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point which was so much fun because my Brother, Kylee and Kai came as well. It was so much fun to see the kids face light up with all the awesome Christmas Lights everywhere! We cant wait til next year to be able to do that with our little one! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! I am so grateful for this time of the year because we get to be with family and think of the Saviors Birth. It really is a WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! Merry Christmas to everyone!

Contractions Anyone?!

The last week I have been feeling some pretty intense contractions... At the time of course didn't even know they were contractions! I kept telling Dave that I feel all this pressure in my lower abdomen and started to get lower back pain and sharp stabbing pain in my whole stomach area. After a couple days of feeling that I started to worry thinking maybe something maybe wrong. So I called my Dr. and the nurse told me, "oh dont worry, just take a warm bath and take some Tylenol." TYLENOL?!?! humm....
So, I decided to go to labor and delivery. I wanted to make sure my baby is fine and the pain I was feeling wasnt stressing her too much. I felt so dumb walking into the Hospital. It was after 9pm and the security guard saw me walking in alone and started to tell me I needed to hurry and get to the 3rd floor where Labor and Deliver is. I told him I am waiting for my husband to park the car. He then told me, that can wait..you just hurry and get to the 3rd floor. Right then Dave walked in and we both went to the 3rd floor. So at the door to call in Dave picked up the phone and said to the lady at the other end, "my wife has stomach pains..." hahaha... then when we were let in he proceeded to say to the nurse, "I think my wife is pregnant"...DUH! I love my husband! :) So to make a long story shorter, they strapped me up to the heart monitor to track the babies heartbeat and another for contractions. I told the Dr I am not having contractions and that I just want to make sure the pain I am feeling is normal. As the DR was talking to me she said, "you say you aren't having any contractions... well you are! And they are very regular. About 5 min apart." That is when I realized the pressure was a contraction. Man am I a genius! And the sharp pains were me being dehydrated. So they did my FIRST pelvic exam and I am dialated to a ONE and 50% effaced. Very cool.... and the Dr also said I will most likely only carry till I am 37-38 weeks along. CRAZY cuz I am 36 weeks along tomorrow!
Well enuf of all this mumbo jumbo... I better finish all the baby stuff I still need to do before she comes!
